For Fashion Design this year, I wanted to try a different approach to sewing. I usually dive right into the first project, which is a simple skirt, but this year, we made abstract self portraits using fabric, looking at Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol among others. It really helped students fine tune their sewing skills while also creating a beautiful piece of artwork. Student feedback was positive -- the fashion students enjoyed working like this and creating art with fabric. What do you think?
