Picture
Look at the logo to the left. Notice how the artist merged text and image. Also, how did the artist use the spartan and golf imagery to work together?
Background
When you create a logo, you are building an IDENTITY for your brand. Think about Dunkin Donuts for a minute. How many visuals pop into your mind? I'm sure it's a lot! Dunkins has worked hard on their brand and they have been successful. Take a look at the gallery below. Why are these logo successful?
Assignment
Your assignment is to create a logo for a coffee/tea shop, a sandwich shop, a juice/smoothie bar, or a bakery.

Steps
  • Concept map the word "cafe" with a partner.
  • Think of a unique and fun name for your cafe. The more interesting, the easier it will be to design.
  • Fold a piece of paper in half twice.
  • Sketch out 4 different designs in the 4 sections of your paper.
  • Choose your design and refine it.
  • Design your logo.
  • Hand in your high resolution JPEG file into Google Classroom. I will show you how to add our classroom folder in drive.

Grading Criteria
  • Your logo must include illustration, text, and a shape. All of these must interact to create a dynamic logo.
  • See the art rubric
