Ms. Anna Snell was at BHS joining us this year from Boston University. She received her BFA in graphic design last year and is working toward her MA. Ms. Snell student taught Web Design, Fashion Design, and Photography. She proved to be a force reckoned with, coming up with exciting and innovative arts lessons to teach my students. When she began, Ms. Snell was hesitant to teach high school students because of her ease of teaching elementary and middle school students, but she has proven to be a success. In Fashion Design, she taught the class how to design textiles, and the students printed their own designs on fabric! It's a great lesson -- be sure to check out those photos (and more) below! Originally hailing from upstate New York, Ms. Snell moved to Boston to pursue her undergraduate degree. She hopes to travel in the coming years and see new and exciting places. Ms. Snell was with us for 6 weeks, observing my classes and then slowly taking them over. The MA program at Boston University is rigorous and intensive -- focusing on big ideas and lessons that create meaning in students' lives. Currently, Ms. Snell is teaching elementary students at the Runkle School in Brookline. I look forward to seeing what Ms. Snell creates in her future. Good luck Ms. Snell -- we shall see you at your art show in April! Check out her site at http://snellbhs.weebly.com/
