April was a busy month here in the BHS art department! Beyond the field trip to New York City, the photography students traveled to Boston's North End to photograph the architecture and old world charm of Boston's historic neighborhood. Students were treated to locals busying up the streets of Boston while enjoying cannoli's and pastries from Mike's Pastry Shop. Students were assigned to photograph "Old and New," juxtaposing two different aspects of the North End in the same photograph. The modern world contrasts the traditional views of the North End. With an open ended project like that, students took the assignment and (literally) ran with it! This was the first year that we were able to photograph strictly in digital thanks to our new DSLR cameras. Take a look at some of the great solutions below.
