3-D Printed Fashion

Background
Architects and scientists have been using 3-D printers for some years, but the Fashion industry has delved into this new practice. Reebok has begun to print shoes, jewelers are experimenting with jewelry designs, and 3-D printed outfits have been hitting the runways. 

Description
Your assignment is to create a 3-D printed Fashion to be incorporated into another of your designs. The focal point of the garment should be the 3-D print.
Steps

1. Sketch out your designs
2. Download 123D Creature, 123D Design, and 123D Sculpt on your iPad
3. Create your piece on your iPad using the above apps
   
4. Export your file to the Cloud
   
5. Create an account at 123dapp.com
   
6. Export your file as an STL file in Autodesk
   
7. Place your STL file into Google Drive under the 3-D Fashion folder
   
8. Place your file in Meshlab
   
9. Place your file in Makerware and transfer to an SD card
   
10. Bring the SD card to the printer and print

Things to Remember

• Your design cannot have angles pointing down (angles must be 90 degrees or greater).
  
• Supports and rafts generally allow your design to print more easily.
