Typography - Tour Poster

Tips:

• You can design the text in Illustrator and then MOVE to Photoshop to add texture and effects
• Play with scale and proportion
• Overlapping is a good way to show 3-dimensionality
• Think about how image and text work together to create an interesting site
• Band pages are your best resource to breaking the rules
• When looking for the musical artist, find a high resolution image (s)

Background:
Fonts, type, text, typeface, typestyle, and typography: they're all names for words. The professional term is type and typography. Please use those terms.

Assignment:
You are tasked to create an interactive TOUR POSTER using Photoshop AND Illustrator (app smashing) for your favorite band (or artist) using MOSTLY typography. You may not simply just place text, you must PLAY with text. 

• Type should be the PRIMARY focus
• Image should be the secondary focus
• You must also add some sort of texture (use a stock exchange site to get a photo of texture)
• Freeimages.com

Criteria:

• Image size: 13"x19" (300 dpi)
• Include your font design for the artist
• Include a texture (freeimages.com)
• Include the tour dates (click here to download)
• Include a high res image of the artist or band (at least 1024x768 px)
• Must use 3-dimensionality
• No widows or orphans
• No hypens
