Laying out a website is probably the most important part of web design. We learned about wireframes in the last lesson. You copied wireframes from previously designed websites. Now it is your turn to create your own layout. Remember some important tips:
  • Keep the layout simple
  • Alignment is important
  • Contain your elements in a block or grid format

Assignment:
Your assignment is to invent a new and creative restaurant that you own. Create 3 wireframes. Use one or more of the standard layouts from above.

Steps:
  1. Recreate your wireframe in Photoshop
  2. Insert your logo
  3. Add text and imagery
  4. Add 3-dimensionality

Specs (specifications):
  • Size: 1024 points x 768 points at 300 ppi (pixels per inch)
  • HOME: This page and all pages should include: logo, social media icons, global navigation, image(s), phone number, and search bar.
  • MENU: List 9 different menu items in 3 different categories
  • ABOUT US: Create a contact form and write a blurb about the cafe
  • Use royalty free images. FoodiesFeed is a great source for this project!
  • See this site for examples of good cafe sites
  • Check this restaurant checklist when you are done

The examples above were taken from this site.
